Become a Founding Sponsor of Kodiak’s next workforce.
Grow here. Work here. Stay here.
Sponsor a paid student intern. Our interns visit your business, learn how it works, and share your story. Sponsorships start at $400.
Building Kodiak’s next workforce
Kodiak’s next workforce is already here. This school year, Kodiak Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) is paying three local students to learn real office, communications and community outreach skills. Work Local helps Kodiak’s emerging workforce see a good job and a good life, right here at home.
Kodiak students want this. When we opened applications, 43 students asked to join: 25 applied, and 18 more reached out after the deadline. Sponsors are how Work Local grows.
Sponsors are at the center of what the interns learn. Your business becomes their classroom, their case study and, for some, their first step toward a career in Kodiak.
What interns learn
Office and administration: scheduling, records, professional email and day-to-day operations
Communications and marketing: writing, social media, newsletters and website content
Community outreach: site visits, interviews, case studies and public speaking
Why your support matters
Your business becomes the classroom.
Interns visit to learn how you run admin, communications and customer outreach.
Your story gets told.
Interns feature your business on KEDC’s website, social media and email updates.
You see a future hire.
Interns learn how their skills fit jobs at your business, starting with summer work.
You get a fresh-eyes case study.
A written case study of your business, from the interns’ point of view.
At every level: a written case study of your business, recognition on KEDC’s website and internship updates, and an invitation to the spring showcase, where interns present what they learned.
